First-Time Setup

It is recommended to launch SteamVR first to ensure the environment is fully initialized before launching Tapi.

  2. Upon first launch, Tapi will create cache files, which may take 1-2 minutes to complete
Once launched, the keyboard will automatically appear in front of you. If the SteamVR Dashboard is open during launch, the keyboard will appear automatically after it closes.

Default bindings to toggle the keyboard overlay:

    • Oculus / Knuckles / Pico: Double-tap the right B button
    • Vive Wand: Double-tap the right Menu button

    TIP

If you need to change this, you can modify it in SteamVR binding settings.

  3. Tapi is set to automatically launch and close with SteamVR.
To disable auto-start, go to SteamVR settings, then Startup / ShutdownChoose startup overlay apps and turn off Tapi.

    INFO

Even if auto-start is disabled, Tapi will still automatically close when SteamVR closes.
